Scag GC-VRII Spindle-Driven Grass Catcher for V-Ride II Stand-On Mowers

The GC-VRII is Scag’s collection system for the V-Ride II stand-on range. It is spindle-driven, meaning the deck’s own spindles generate the airflow that moves clippings into the bag rather than relying on a separate blower assembly, so there is no extra engine or belt to maintain.

When Collection Is Not Optional

Plenty of properties make bagging a contractual requirement rather than a preference. Hospital and school grounds, retail frontages, and any site with adjacent hard standing or water features all tend to specify collection, because side-discharged clippings on a path are a slip risk and clippings in a pond are a nutrient problem. Collection also matters on the first cut of spring and on any overgrown site where windrowed material would smother the turf beneath it.

Getting the Right Install Kit

The catcher itself is common across the range, but the mounting hardware is not. Order the install kit that matches your deck width: part 901M for a 48 inch V-Ride II, 901N for a 52 inch, and 901P for a 61 inch. The kit is a separate line item, so budget for both. If your machine is a V-Ride XL rather than a V-Ride II the catcher is different again, the GC-SVRXL, and it takes its own install kits.
