Measure Before You Buy

The single most useful thing a buyer can do before choosing between the 32 and 36 inch machines is walk their route with a tape. Gate widths on older housing stock vary far more than the nominal figures suggest, and hinge hardware, latch posts and overgrown shrubs all reduce the real opening. If more than a handful of your properties measure under 38 inches clear, the narrower machine will earn its lower productivity back.
