Description

Scag RC 52 Inch Low-Profile Remote Control Slope Mower

A radio-controlled 52 inch slope mower with a fuel-injected 27 horsepower Briggs CXi, built low to the ground for working under obstacles as well as on gradients. The operator stands off the machine entirely.

Taking the Operator Off the Slope

The reason this machine exists is that the most dangerous work in grounds maintenance is mowing steep ground, and no amount of care makes a rider safe past a certain gradient. A remote-controlled machine removes the person from the hazard rather than managing it. For highways embankments, flood defences, solar farms and reservoir banks, that is the entire argument.

  • Cutting width: 52 inches
  • Engine: Briggs CXi EFI, 27 HP
  • Control: radio remote, operator off machine
  • Profile: low, for working beneath obstacles
  • Rated for commercial and municipal use

Low Profile Buys More Than Slope Access

A machine that sits low gets under solar panel arrays, guard rails, low branches and pipework that a ridden mower cannot approach at all. On a solar site that capability matters more than the slope rating, because the constraint is overhead clearance rather than gradient.

Keep People Off the Ground Below

Removing the operator from the slope does not remove the hazard from it. A remote machine can still slide, and material thrown from a deck travels downhill further than anyone expects. Establishing an exclusion zone below the working area is part of the method statement rather than an optional precaution.

Know What Happens on Signal Loss

Every operator should know the machine’s failsafe behaviour before the first job rather than discovering it on a bank.

The Two RC Machines

The SRC-52D-37BV-EFI is the Extreme Slope version with a larger Vanguard engine, built for steeper ground rather than lower clearance. Both are specialist machines priced accordingly, and the choice between them is decided by whether your constraint is gradient or headroom.
