Introduction to Ramrod Skid Steers
Ramrod mini skid steers are stand-on loaders that can perform heavy, difficult tasks with ease. A very compact design makes them easy to operate in tight spaces and, of course, a mini skid steer takes up less space on your trailer when you need to move it to another job site.
Since 1980, when Ramrod Equipment introduced the first mini skid loader in North America, Ramrod mini skid steers have been the leader in this class of loaders.
Operation and control
The Ramrod is simple to operate. Its design allows the operator a clear 360 degree view of the machine and work area. Steering is handled efficiently by a single hand palm control and is capable of tight zero radius turns. The operator's console also has low fuel and hydraulic oil alert lights. The spacious slip-resistant operator platform is a comfortable and safe place to stand.
High-torque Hydraulic Systems
Large high-flow hydraulic pumps (6.3 GPM on Estate series and up to 14 GPM on the Pro-series) provide simultaneous output to the attachments and tractive power to the drive system. Auxiliary outlets (optional on some models) provide power on the lift arms to operate various power attachments. The hydraulics give up to 1700 lbs. of push-pull drive traction on the Pro-series (995 lbs. on Estate series). This drive power is important when digging with the bucket or cutting trenches with the trencher attachment.
The hydraulic pumps are powered by gasoline or diesel engines. Some models have Ramrod's exclusive rigid track drive system with dedicated sprocket drive, and some are four wheel drive.
Outstanding Lift Capacity
The Ramrod is available in several models of different sizes, but even small model 500 can lift 500 lbs. and carry up to 825 lbs. Larger models like the 1350 can lift 1350 lbs. and carry 2700 lbs. Lift height at the hinge pin is 72" on the larger Pro-series machines and 66" on the Estate series.
Self-leveling lift arms
The powerful loader arms are self leveling - a feature that's exclusive to Ramrod. The design prevents your load from rolling off the bucket while it's being lifted or lowered. At the same time, rollback and dump angles can be adjusted easily at any loader position. The arms also roll back at a sharp angle to prevent spillage and an 80 - 85 degree dump angle completely empties the bucket.
Lots of Attachments
A large array of different attachments are available for the Ramrod machines. A quick attachment system saves time when you change tasks.
Here is a list of some of the Ramrod attachements:
- Material bucket
- Post hole auger
- Grated bucket
- Hydraulic hammer
- Snow Blower
- Rotary tiller
- Pallet lift forks
- Rotary broom
- Grapple bucket
- and more!
